1. How often should I visit the dentist?

It is generally recommended to visit the dentist every six months for a routine check-up and cleaning. However, your dentist may suggest more frequent visits depending on your oral health needs.

2. What happens during a routine dental check-up?

A routine dental check-up typically includes a thorough cleaning, an examination of your teeth and gums, and possibly X-rays to detect any hidden issues. Your Dentist and Dental Hygienist will also provide advice on maintaining good oral hygiene.

3. Does a dental cleaning hurt?

Most people experience little to no discomfort during a dental cleaning. However, if you have sensitive teeth or gum disease, you may feel some mild discomfort. Let your dentist or hygienist know if you experience any pain, and we can create a plan of action to decrease discomfort.

4. What should I do if I have dental anxiety?

If you feel nervous about visiting the dentist, let the staff know ahead of time. We offer options like sedation, calming music, other relaxation techniques like the ability to watch a television program with headphones to help make your visit more comfortable.

5. How can I maintain good oral hygiene between visits?

To maintain good oral hygiene, brush at least twice a day, floss daily, use an antimicrobial mouthwash, and eat a balanced diet. Avoid smoking and limit sugary foods and drinks.

6. What are the signs that I need to see a dentist immediately?

Signs that require urgent dental care include severe tooth pain, swollen or bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, loose teeth, or any injury to your teeth or jaw.

7. What should I expect if I need a dental procedure?

Your dentist will explain the procedure, what to expect, and any necessary aftercare instructions. If you need anesthesia, they will discuss your options to ensure comfort during treatment.

8. Will my dental insurance cover my visit?

Coverage varies by plan. It’s best to check with your dental insurance provider to understand what is covered and any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur.

9. What should I do if I experience a dental emergency outside of office hours?

If you have a dental emergency outside of office hours, contact your dentist’s emergency line if available. If it’s a severe issue, such as a knocked-out tooth or extreme pain, seek immediate care at an emergency dental clinic or hospital.

10. Where should I park upon arrival?

There is ample free parking on the main level at the entrance of the building and if this parking is full, there are extra parking capabilities on the west side (back of the building ) closest to the Safeway. There is a breeze way that connects the Safeway parking area to our front entrance and therefore creates ease of access if the Safeway parking lot must be used.

11. What floor are you on?

We are located on the third floor and must be accessed by the elevators.

12. If it is my first visit, what can I expect?

The moment you book your appointment, our friendly and courteous staff looks forward to provide you with a positive experience to meet your dental needs. We understand the value of your time and strive to ensure punctuality. We start by taking an accurate medical and dental history including any dental concerns that you may have. Following the exam, the dentist will review the findings and discuss recommendations with you prior to beginning dental treatment. No treatment is completed without patient consent. Our goal is to arrive at an effective treatment plan that will optimize your oral health and well-being. If required, our dental office with send your claim electronically and accept assignment from the insurance carrier.
